Nu Moves Terms & Conditions
Fees, membership, participation and school policies
1. Fee Structure Agreement
Our classes run for 42 weeks each year. Holidays include 5 weeks in summer, 1 week in October, 2 weeks at Christmas and 2 weeks at Easter. Tuition fees are spread evenly over 12 monthly payments. The monthly payment will remain the same throughout the year, regardless of how many teaching weeks fall within a particular month.
A one-off joining fee is payable upon enrolment.
2. Payments
All payments must be made by Direct Debit via GoCardless.
Students may be refused entry to classes until outstanding fees have been paid in full by the 15th of the month.
Failed Direct Debit payments will automatically be re-presented by GoCardless within 7 days.
A 2% administration charge will be added to all failed GoCardless Direct Debit payments.
Your initial invoice, including any applicable joining fee or Nu Moves Membership fee, will be collected automatically via your Direct Debit. Direct Debit mandates may be cancelled by the account holder at any time.
3. Automatic Invoicing & Nu Moves Membership
To operate as efficiently as possible, all students are automatically invoiced each month. Unless you notify us that you wish to change classes or withdraw from the school, monthly invoices will continue to be issued.
Any changes to a student's class attendance must be notified to the office by email no later than the 15th of the month. Changes received by this date will take effect from the following month's invoice.
If you wish to withdraw a student from the school, you must notify the office by email no later than the 15th of the month. If notice is received after this date, the following month's invoice will already have been generated and our Refund Policy (Section 5) will apply.
Nu Moves Membership
As a condition of enrolment, all students are required to pay a Nu Moves Membership fee of £25 per student, payable each September. Students joining after September will be charged a pro-rata membership fee based on their month of enrolment.
The Nu Moves Membership fee is separate from tuition fees and is non-refundable.
4. Changing Classes
If you wish to change any classes, please notify the office by email no later than the 15th of the month. Any changes will take effect from the 1st of the following month.
From time to time, Nu Moves may move students to different classes based on age, ability or level. The Parent/Guardian will be notified in advance wherever possible.
5. Cancelled Classes & Refunds
If Nu Moves needs to cancel a class for any reason, we will endeavour to provide an alternative class or reschedule the lesson where possible. If this cannot be arranged, a credit or refund will be applied to the next invoice.
Monthly tuition fees are non-refundable once the month has commenced, except in exceptional circumstances at the sole discretion of Nu Moves.
The Nu Moves Membership fee is non-refundable.
Once a student has enrolled, monthly tuition fees remain payable until written notice is received in accordance with Section 3.
6. Class Uniform
All students are required to wear the correct school uniform as outlined in our Uniform Policy.
New students are not expected to have all uniform items immediately but should purchase the correct uniform within two months of joining.
A copy of the Uniform Policy is available upon request.
Students who repeatedly fail to comply with the Uniform Policy may be refused entry to class.
Mobile phones and electronic devices are not permitted in the studios unless authorised by a member of staff.
Personal belongings are brought to the school entirely at the owner's risk.
Lockers are available to hire. Please contact the office for further information.
7. Teachers
All Nu Moves teaching staff are appropriately qualified and checked for their suitability to work with children.
Classes will normally be taught by the same teacher each week. However, Nu Moves may occasionally need to provide a substitute teacher, for example due to illness or injury. It may not always be possible to notify the Parent/Guardian of such changes in advance.
8. Competitions & Exams
Students eligible for exam or competition entry will be notified of any additional fees or costs.
Students will not be permitted to participate in any competition or exam if the relevant fees have not been paid by the deadline stated in the correspondence. Many governing bodies require payment in full and do not accept late entries.
9. Medical Information
The Parent/Guardian must notify the office of any medical conditions, including allergies, that Nu Moves needs to be aware of. All information provided will be treated as confidential.
The Parent/Guardian is responsible for ensuring that all medical information held by Nu Moves remains accurate and up to date and must notify the office of any changes as soon as possible.
If a student is unwell and there is a risk that others may be affected, the Parent/Guardian is respectfully asked not to bring the student to class until they are well.
10. Photography & Video Consent
By ticking the box to confirm acceptance of these Terms & Conditions during enrolment, the Parent/Guardian consents to Nu Moves photographing and/or filming the student for promotional, educational and documentary purposes.
These images and recordings may be used in printed publications, on our website, across social media platforms and within other marketing materials produced by Nu Moves.
The Parent/Guardian grants Nu Moves the right to use, reproduce and adapt the resulting images and recordings for publicity, fundraising and other purposes that support the school's aims.
11. Health Information & Medical Release
The Parent/Guardian acknowledges that participation in dance, cheer, circus, acro and associated performing arts activities carries an inherent risk of injury.
By allowing the student to participate in activities provided by Nu Moves, the Parent/Guardian voluntarily accepts these risks and understands the importance of both the student and Parent/Guardian following all instructions given by members of staff.
The Parent/Guardian agrees to release Nu Moves, together with its employees and freelance teaching staff, from liability arising from participation in activities, except where liability cannot legally be excluded.
12. Lost Property
Nu Moves cannot accept responsibility for any lost, stolen or damaged personal belongings brought onto the premises.
13. Student Behaviour
Students are expected to behave respectfully towards staff, fellow students, visitors and school property at all times.
Nu Moves reserves the right to refuse entry to classes or terminate enrolment where behaviour is considered unacceptable or repeatedly breaches the school's expectations.
14. Communication
Email is Nu Moves' primary method of communication with the Parent/Guardian. It is the responsibility of the Parent/Guardian to ensure that the school always holds an up-to-date email address and contact details.
15. Emergency Closures
Where classes cannot take place due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to severe weather, power failure, public health restrictions or other unforeseen events, Nu Moves reserves the right to provide alternative arrangements where reasonably possible.
16. Changes to Terms & Conditions
Nu Moves reserves the right to amend these Terms & Conditions from time to time. The Parent/Guardian will be notified of any significant changes before they take effect.
